All you have to do is look.

I’ve started photographing hearts where I find them.  They’re everywhere once you start to look for them.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

May your day be filled with love and chocolate.  Seriously, what’s not to LOVE about Valentine’s Day?!  It’s the best!!

Happy 2012!!

I know I kinda missed the boat on that one.  I dove into too many house projects all at once and I’m just now coming up for air.  Whew.

My favorite holiday is just a round the corner…  VALENTINE’S DAY!!  I LOVE love!  It’s my favorite.  I’ve started designing new printable school valentines for the kiddos.  I’m doing something a little different this year,  I’m mostly using photography this time around.  I started out designing for the boys or anyone who feels squeamish about passing out valentines with hearts on them.  These valentine feature dinosaurs and monsters some ferocious, some not…  All awesome!  I’m calling them Toothy Valentines,  you can see all six in my Etsy shop window.

I thought I was done designing holiday cards for the year, then one of my clients requested an ‘Elf On A Shelf” card.  I thought it was a great idea so….  Tadaaaa!  The colors really are not florescent, I’m not quite sure why they look like that in this format.  Anyway, I know it’s kind of late into the season for a new card, but it will be one less that I have to do next year.  Look at me!  I’m a little do bee.

Although both of my last two posts featured my kids’ mad culinary skills, this is actually not technically about cookies, well it kind of is…  But not really.  Last year I started a new tradition with my kids.  Beginning on December 1st we will have some sort of holiday related activity each day leading up to Christmas Day.  Today, day one, they decorated gingerbread people.  A gingerbread girl and boy.  Notice the gingerbread boy’s hipster mustache?  I love it!

I wish you a very happy day.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have to share this amazing gold ceramic megaphone…  It amplifies your ipod.  It’s simple and fantastic.  And it’s on my Christmas list!

My mom gave me an illustrated copy of the ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas poem when I was a kid.  It would always be the first thing I hunted out when we unpacked our Christmas ornaments every year.  I still have it and look forward to it with the same giddiness.  I’ve tried passing on my excitement about this little book to my own kids but they couldn’t care less….  Wah wah.  That’s okay, at least I know they won’t ruin my sentimental treasure by “loving” it too much.

This card, titled ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas,  is my re-imaging of the quote:

“The children were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.”

Now, I’m not exactly sure what a sugar-plum is so I decided they would be the Sugar Plum Fairies from the Nutcracker Ballet.

Have you ever dreamed of getting your picture taken with a polar bear but you’ve stopped short because of your fear of being eaten?  Well fear not…  The Arctic Animals – Family Picture Holiday Card is all about making dreams come true.  Look how lucky you are!

Many people don’t know this about me but 11 is my most favorite, lucky number and today, being 11/11/11 is an especially auspicious day for me indeed, for my dear darling Etsy featured little ‘ole me TWICE in their “Family Matters” Holiday Card section today.  Thank you Etsy!!  I must go out and buy myself a lottery ticket on this luckiest of lucky days!
